Ethnic groups

Although majority of people in Jakarta fall under the Javanese Ethnic group, there are many other ethnicities as well including Sundanese, Batak and Malays.

Another ethnic group in modern day Jakarta is Chinese and many of them would have come during the Colonial Era. The Betawi also would have come during that time for they are people that lived in Batavia which is now Jakarta.

There also use to be a lot more Batak people in 1930 then there are now, due to other ethnic groups growing more.
